Why Trust God? || 2 Samuel 7:28 (ESV) || Short Bible Verses

2 Samuel 7:28 (ESV) tells us, “And now, O Lord God, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.”

Do you have a hard time believing that God will fulfil his promises to you? When God told King David what he planned to do for him it must have seemed too good to be true. God promised to make David’s name great and to give Israel a safe home.

God promised that he would establish his kingdom forever through David’s descendants. David responded to these promises with humility and faith. Who am I why oh lord god did you have brought me this far he prayed. He prays to God for his faithfulness and declared and now all lord god.

You are god and your words are true. And you have promised this good thing to your servant. God has made incredible promises to you. Consider just a few of them. He has promised to never leave you. To finish the good work he’s begun in you. To give you wisdom if you ask and to always provide a way out of temptation.

Today Remember the way Scott has kept his promises. Reflect on what you know of god’s character and trust that he will be faithful in the future. Faithful god. I haven’t done anything to deserve these great promises you’ve given me. But you are full of grace. Your mercy and kindness and faithfulness are never-ending. Thank you for sending your son Jesus and establishing your kingdom forever through him. I trust you because you have been faithful to your people from generation to generation. Help me to trust you more every day. In the name of the father-son and Holy Spirit Amen.

Don’t hurry off-take all the time you need here resting in the sure promises of god to you. He is god and his words are true. Today remember the waste that he has been faithful in the past. And practice putting your trust in him. For the future.
